Such participants must pay the difference between their employee benefit remission program and the special cost to Creighton University for the study abroad program. Regular registration and fees in addition to the tuition remission fee and any additional fees for special Creighton University programs (i.e. Global Scholars) are applicable during each study abroad semester. Academics and Coursework
Students are required to take a minimum of 15 credit hours (5 courses) while at the University of Limerick. Nursing students must enroll in four courses as well as two online Nursing courses at Creighton.  There are a wide variety of courses to choose from in all 6 of UL's colleges:
Business, Education, Humanities, Engineering, Informatics & Electronics, and Science.

View course modules available for your particular term abroad:
SPRING 2018 Book of Modules
FALL 2018 Book of Modules
To search all the modules at once, please see the "Book of Modules".  Please note that this course list is for both Fall and Spring terms, so you need to be sure you find courses ending in EVEN numbers for Spring term courses and ODD numbers for Fall term courses.

From Fall 2018 onward, courses taken while studying abroad will transfer back to Creighton University with a letter grade.  These grades will be factored into your Creighton GPA.  Grade equivalency charts will be published on the study abroad website in early 2018 to help you understand how the grade abroad will reflect on your Creighton transcript.  This change is in contrast to the former "Pass/Fail" grade policy.

On-Site Assistance
The International Office at the University of Limerick will support you throughout your stay. Prior to the beginning of each semester, they also host a two-day mandatory orientation to the university and city.

The International Office will schedule your appointment with the immigration bureau and inform you of the date and time at which you should meet to register for your study visa.

UL Practicum

The University of Limerick has a new Practicum opportunity called UL Engage.  Students may enroll in a 3-credit service-learning course in which they learn about and interact with a part of the Limerick community in conjunction with a project of their choice.  Projects vary from semester to semester, but range from Arts & Culture, Civic Engagement, Business, Health & Wellbeing, and Science and Technology.

Find out more about the UL Engage Program here.

More information about this program is provided on the first day of orientation, and students are able to sign up for the class after arrival in Ireland.

Students live in row houses in Kilmurry Village.  Students live with approximately 3 other international and Irish students. Students will pay Creighton for the cost of their housing at the Kiewit freshman standard double rate that can be found on the Creighton housing website.
