Students in the summer immersion course will travel to Northern Uganda in 2018 help produce, shoot and edit a documentary film, write blogs and explore theology and journalism. Students earn six credit hours in theology and journalism while experiencing for a short time life in a challenging part of the world. The course includes a film-making boot camp, two weeks immersed in the place and two weeks to produce a rough cut of the film. The focus will be on refugees from South Sudan. Previous Backpack Journalism projects and students’ blogs are available at cubackpack.org.
