FLPA ENGLAND The Development of Biological Thought
We explore the roots of the natural sciences in medieval philosophy and theology, the professionalization of the sciences, the role of the ancient universities (Oxford, Cambridge) in the development of biology, and the emergence of the modern natural sciences. During our trip we visit many of the institutions involved in the development of the sciences including: The Royal Society of London, Kew Gardens, Natural History Museum, and Sanger Genome Centre.
